How to make a print. Well, first you draw a picture of what you would like to make a print of on a rectangle of paper. Shade the back in with pencil. Place the sketching on the linoleum, shaded side down. Then you draw over your drawing, this will etch the design on your tile. Now you're done with your paper, so you can ditch it somewhere if you want. Trace your etching on the tile.
Now you use your carver thingy (sorry, Mrs. Meyer, I know that didn't sound professional) to carve the parts that you want to leave white. The rest is super easy. Use your brayer (the roller thingy) to roll colored ink on your print. Stamp it on a sheet of paper.
Two more steps and then you're done! Carve out the parts that you want to keep the color you just printed it in. And then you roll on your second ink color, print it on top, and yay! Done!
But if you wanted to get even more fancy pants you write your name, then what number it is, like, the 1st print out of 8 prints (1/8)

- Why did you decide on the design you did? What meaning does it have to you or how does it relate to your interest? A while ago I was on the road to South Dakota for a church mission trip and for some reason I drew this, a girl trapped in a bottle. Someday I want to write a book inspired by that picture.
- What did you learn from your printmaking project? I learned that with printing you need to accept how it turns out, appreciate what it is, and make something out of it.
- What did you like most about printmaking? EVERYTHING
- What did you like least about printmaking? The carving part. I wasn't a good judge on how deep I should carve it.
