The Artist Research Project was where you chose an artist (I got Jan Van Eyck) and had to make a presentation about their life, artwork, ect. At first I had wanted to make a puppet show. Then I decided I'd sort of do a puppet show but with slides, then put it into movie form. It honestly took a lot of work doing each separate slide, because I had to make the original backgrounds, then the same ones but with my characters popping up, and then separate ones for their speech bubbles, turning it into a stop motion thing.
1. What did you learn about from completing your artist research project?
I learned that if you get an interesting idea in your head, go for it, although make sure you set away lots of time to work on it if it's a school project with a deadline, because this little lovely took 3 whole days and a half. Coloring 43 (I am soo not lying) slides takes a lot of TIME and PATIENCE and EFFORT.
2. What did you learn from presenting?
I learned to thank teachers for not making their students stand awkwardly at the front while their video presentation is playing. Oh and I also learned to keep your mind absolutely blank while the video is going, or you might start getting super embarrassed.
3. What are you the most proud of?
I am proudest of how well I met my deadline, I wasn't sure I was going to make it. It brought a lot of anxiety.
4. How do you now understand the visual arts in relation to history and culture?
I understand it pretty good.
5. What did you learn about art movements?
I learned that particular art movements were all the rage at certain times, like in the 13-1400's it was oil portraits. But when a new art movement came along, it was considered crazy and newfangled, but then it began to grow on the people, resulting in a brand new art movement.
Look below at some of the scenes I made for my presentation. (=
